I'm sure there are a number of possibilities. The coaching profession in some ways is no different than the players. There is loads of talent out there sitting on a bench waiting on an opportunity learning under other great coaches.

Louisville hires Charleston coach Pat Kelsey as its next MBB coach. Kelsey made the NCAA tourney past two seasons out of his three years at Charleston.

Couple more hires of note: UTSA hires Nicholls head coach Austin Claunch. James Madison hiring Preston Spradlin head coach at Morehead St. where he made a couple of NCAA tourneys.

Rumor mill was Spradlin was gonna go to WKU. For those longing for the good ‘ol days, WKU basketball ain’t what it used to be. 30 yrs ago it was arguably the best Sun Belt basketball program (history, support) league had.

Some other notes from Marshall BoG special meeting earlier today concerning MU basketball...

- There was no national coaching search because Corny Jackson was privately agreed upon as the "coach in waiting" last year.

- No buyout was paid, or owed, to Dan D'Antoni.
