Thread: Nominate Bob Marlin's Biggest Win

  1. Default Re: Nominate Bob Marlin's Biggest Win

No doubt he’s never had a top 25 win. But also no doubt he’s gonna get into Louisiana Sport HOF in Natchitoches five years after his retirement. Longevity, one NIT trip,3 one and done trips to the dance, and all time leading wins in the SBC counts for something.

NOT justifying, but it could be worse. And I've heard of no rumblings up there even thou losing at a .624 clip.

I'm fairly certain this is some sort of spoof account or someone just playing around but in case its the real * I think you are fighting an uphill climb here. Telling us to get tickets and join the rebounders club is almost like talking down to most here. I grew up in the dome watching cajun basketball long before you knew where Lafayette was. I've had season tickets (up until a couple years ago) for BB and other sports as well. Same can probably be said for most here so to tell us to invest more money in a program that has shown no real signs of advancement over the last 14 years is fairly insulting.

If it was worst than he would have been gone a long time ago, the problem with this is it is just enough to get by....it is time to bring someone in to elevate us to the next level. Like Hud did when Bustle left. Someone young, energetic and get butts back in the seats. It is that time.

The real question now is, judging by the current state of the basketball program, are we going up or down moving forward? With season ticket sales this past year and a 5th place finish in conference (4th out of 6th season we have finished below 4th place), I think we all know the answer to that.

If they want better results, time to start selling the product to the community.

A low seed in the SBC tournament has a 0.292% chance of winning the conf tourney, everything equal. The top two seeds have a 25% chance of winning.

In 14 years, CBM has only twice started us out with a 25% chance out of the gate. If we're a one bid league, we need to find someone that can consistently get us as best of a percentage of winning the conference tournament as it stands currently.
