I was hoping Joe Charles would be recognized as Defensive Player of Year. That honor went to Justin Apsom of App State, the league's best shot blocker. It is not unusual for a shot blocker to win the award. That happens in most conferences. However Joe may be the only guy in the league who has guarded all 5 positions at some point in the season. I wonder if he was runner up to the award. That has not been announced.

Nonetheless, nice break out season for Charles. Also proud of Julien as I'm sure the last few years must have been tough on him. He came back strong this year and was finally healthy. As far as Kitenge goes, after watching him the first game I never thought he'd turn into the player he is now. Guy brings the juice and I love that. Hopefully, next year we'll get we'll get the second coming of Terrance Lewis to help rebound on the backside.
