As poor as the pitching was today, the hitting might have been worse. Over two games against Liberty, of all teams, the Cajuns got a total of six hits. Today, Cajun hitters were awarded 6 free bases and never capitalized.

Don't look now, but, here comes Oklahoma.

4 hits today against a pitcher with a 14.44 ERA. Something is definitely amiss.

As a fan, I can understand the struggles in the circle. The Cajuns lost three pitchers to graduation. What I'm having difficulty with is, every other player returned, except Stormy. Fielding percentage has dropped 14 points. Batting average, runs per game, home runs, almost every hitting category is down from last year. And, except for two, the same players are at the plate.

I'm at a loss for what is going on with the Cajuns miserable start to the season. Poor play in all facets of the game. Something seems definitely wrong within the program. I did not expect to beat Oklahoma but the struggles this team has against opponents we usually beat is baffling. Not what we have come to expect out of the softball team. Hope we get things going in the right direction soon.

Haven't seen Allred at all in a while, whether at first or as a pinch hitter. I wonder if she's injured or just being benched.
