Turd sandwich day. 0-3.
Very disappointing night at the plate. But the pitching was great again. Pitchers got into some trouble throughout the night but never broke. Bats will come around, but as long as you have pitching you will always be in the game.
RPI killing loss.
Pitchers played with a little fire but got it done.
Tip your hat to Parker Smith. Kid is super impressive. Really good Friday night college baseball game.
Cajuns need to go get the next two. I like the chances. The 2 guys they threw tonight were their 2 best arms. Starter tomorrow is pretty good but things get hairy after him. Need to get him out asap tomorrow.
That was a good atmosphere and solid Friday night game. Margin for error was small, as expected. That run in the 1st on 3 walks is rough. Laced a few balls right at people.
Bounce back and get the series.
No panic. All is good. Let’s take the next 2. That was about as good a baseball game you can get.
Attendance tonight 3849. Closer to the numbers we’re used to seeing.
Manny Garza lifted a sacrifice fly in the first inning before adding an RBI single in the third while right-hander Parker Smith pitched 7.0 strong innings to help lead Rice to a 2-1 victory over Louisiana in the first game of a three-game series on Friday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
