A Calcasieu Parish grand jury has
indicted a Lake Charles couple after deputies reportedly found the
man's 9-year-old son malnourished and confined to a room.
The American Press reports 27-year-old Jaime B. Day was indicted
on three counts of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and five
counts of cruelty to a juvenile. Her husband, 30-year-old Murry
Dalton Day, was indicted on one count of second-degree cruelty and
two counts of cruelty.
The Days were arrested in March and have been in jail unable to
post bonds.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Kim Myers say the child had bruises
on his body and face and a second-degree burn mark on his back.
It was not immediately known whether Days have an attorney.
