Ton of experience. He ought to be able to match X's & O's with anyone. Anxious to learn what type of defense he runs. Picking up Coach Stoker was a good hire as well. Beginning to feel a little more optimistic about upcoming season.

Salgado will do fine, I hope.
Do we know anything else besides his name and how many stops he's had? Style? Scheme? I want to be excited as much as the next guy.
If he can't get it done, then it will be over for Desormeaux. He has an extensive resume, coaching experience at different positions. His job is to evaluate the roster on the defensive side of the football from game video and do basic install this spring. He will get an up-close look at the talent in the spring and adjust his scheme.
Going into Coach Des 3rd year, I think Salgado's recruiting ability is secondary (pun intended!) We need a D Coord coach that can impact this year, and bring some energy to the defense. Hopefully he's a good teacher.
Salgado had a hell of a run at Princeton. He rebuilt their defense and made them statistically one of the best in the FCS. Two of his players, Mike Catapano and Caraun Reid were drafted into the NFL (Catapano by the Chiefs; Reid, by the Lions). The Cajuns are in good hands.
