CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Louisiana men's tennis team earned their third straight victory on Saturday after knocking off DePaul, 4-2, in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Ragin' Cajuns have won five of their last six matches as they approach Sun Belt Conference play.
The Cajuns jumped out quickly on the Blue Demons and took the doubles point. Vasil Dimitrov and Leonard Tramolay dominated court two to earn a 6-0 victory. After the Blue Demons leveled the score with a court three win, Sacha Grandvincent and Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez clinched the point with a 6-3 win on court one.
DePaul earned a pair of wins on courts one and two but the Cajuns closed strong. Grandvincent earned a tight, 7-6 (8-6), 7-5, win on court three. Over on court six, Tramolay faced little resistance in a 6-0, 6-2 win, putting the Cajuns on the verge of clinching. Dimitrov came away victorious in three sets on court four for the win, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, after dropping the opening set.
The Cajuns will be off next week before hosting Charlotte on March 1 at Cajun Courts.
