Maybe it isn’t the norm for athletics departments to put statements out regarding such contracts, but people sure were quick to drag UL through the mud on this one.

It’s out there. Think 1.1 mil, so UL grosses 1.7 on the entire deal.

Being MBB went up there a few years ago, UL has some connection there. I’d guess there was some agreement to let MSU announce or take heat. Being little brother to UM, they’re kinda like us.

Because media outlets starting reporting that WE were the ones who pulled out of the game, so it makes perfectly good sense for Cajun fans to ask what happened. And when there is complete silence, then yes, people get irritated.

It was more along the lines of national articles stating that it was us who cancelled. It would’ve been nice for us to clarify that.

I mean...some of us just wanted to know what took place, and there being crickets this whole time was understandably frustrating.

In the end, I'm very pleased to know this is what actually happened.

So true, except for the issue that national media was putting out that Louisiana canceled, meaning that silence put Louisiana in a bad light.

I would say, if it concerns $600,000 and it's a public institution like UL, then yes we have a right to know. A private person or company, I don't have a problem with keeping it hidden.

I'm glad it came out and cleared up the air, this is what should have happened from the beginning.
