You talk about the home success the last 2 years. A lot of people checked out though when a team with Jordan Brown, Theo Akwuba, and Greg Williams finished 8th in the conference and only 1 game above .500 at home and overall. There was no excuse for that failure. Not producing consistent top tier SBC teams has been a common knock on Marlin. The jury is still out on this season. We are in 4th, but 2-5 against the top half of the conference. 3 of the last 4 will come against teams in the top half. Hopefully the Cajuns pull through.

When I said we have played well at home the last two years, I was referring to last season and this season. The play in Jordan's junior year was disappointing. Main reason was we did not have a true point guard that year. Awkuba and Brown did not mesh well together much of that season. Greg Williams Jr. was injured much of that year and attempting to play him at point guard did not work. I agree people some stopped paying attention after that season. I am simply pointing out that things have improved since then. This season, the game against Georgia State was disappointing. Although the James Madison game was a loss, I thought the team played fairly well that game. Playing Troy and USM should be fun.

It takes a lot to mesh.

A harder and harder feat with the portal.

We beat up on a ton of bad teams during the win streak, we will know if we are for real the remainder of the season.

Rest assured the team will respond.

I just don't think this team is built for winning on the road. We are frontrunners, when things are going good, we play defense, when we start missing shots, defense goes away.

Then we start making shots and call timeouts.

Of course having bodies like Spiller and Absom bang on you will wear most teams down. Regardless the Cajuns are unlikely to win if Julien and Garnett both go 0 for 4 from three. Despite what many basketball “experts” say, the game often comes down to shot making.
The game comes down to shot making. You are right. However, you'd be wrong if by shot making you are specifically referencing three point shots exclusively.

All the more reason to work in your bench throughout the game. Obviously Fields played really well but we also got some good minutes from Ratliff and he deserved to play more himself. I am now convinced that we just wear our guys down during the course of most games which is why we've really had trouble executing down the stretch, particularly in our losses.
