The Louisiana women's basketball team returns to the Cajundome for its first home game of the month as it takes on Georgia Southern on Thursday at 6 p.m.
The game is the program's annual Breast Cancer Awareness game as a pregame ceremony will recognize breast cancer survivors. Additionally, lapel pins and wristbands will be given out to fans upon arrival.
The game between the Ragin' Cajuns (10-12, 5-7 SBC) and Eagles (13-12, 3-9 SBC) will be streamed live on ESPN+ with radio coverage in the Lafayette area on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM and The Varsity Network worldwide.
Louisiana has won all seven meetings between the two teams in Lafayette and own a three-game winning streak over Georgia Southern. The Ragin' Cajuns are looking to build off their thrilling 54-51 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday in the MAC-SBC Challenge. Tamiah Robinson led the way with a season-high 14 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds remaining.
For the season, Brandi Williams leads Louisiana with 11.5 points per game as Tamera Johnson adds 10.3 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds. Since Jan. 1, Jaylyn James has provided a spark as she averages a team-high 12.3 points, including a 25-point performance against Arkansas State.
Terren Ward powers the Eagles' offense as she averages 22.3 points per game and adds 9.7 rebounds. Ward leads the team in steals with 42 and is second on the team in blocks with 19 and assists at 47.
