The Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force concluded a week long investigation which resulted in the arrest of four subjects.
Metro agents arrested Jose Luis Sanchez and Clifton Lamb both of Houston, Tx. and James Preston Rutledge Jr. of Breaux Bridge, La. after they were discovered conducted a drug transaction in the 1200 blk. of NW Evangeline Thruway. Agents recovered approximately 15 lbs of marijuana which has a street value of $36,332.00.
St. Martin Parish S.O. Narcotics Unit was contacted reference James Rutledge. A search of the subject residence located at 1159DHebertRd.BreauxBridge was conducted. During this search an additional 5.5 Pounds of marijuana (street value $12,750) and 33 valiums was located. Also located were several explosives devices which included ¼ pound of T&T, one CS grenade, one smoke grenade, one electric blasting cap, 2 simulated TOW missiles and nine fire arms.
Jose Sanchez and James Rutledge were both arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Clifton Lamb was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
James Preston Rutledge Jr. was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possession of explosive devices.
All were booked in the LafayetteParishCorrectionalCenter.
