It’s weird to see a team just go flat and they never really recovered.

I can’t imagine Cal will be back anytime soon.
    They have no class.

    Most likely not

Cajuns hit more than a handful of balls hard, but right at people. And Cal’s OFers made some nice catches.

Stuff happens. A strong weekend overall for the team.

Certainly need to clean up the defense.

I wasn’t able to watch until the 8th inning. What did they do besides the kneeling?

Their coach taunted our fans multiple times and their assistant coach, along with one of their players was ejected from trying to beef with the umpires.

Their coach lost her composure when umps didn’t suspend the game and her team followed her lead (lost composure….catcher and an asst coach got thrown out).

Their freshman pitcher clearly hasn’t had to throw in the rain much in her career, but to her credit, she shut Cajuns down once the game resumed after the ejections. She bailed her coaches out…they needed an adult out there and it was the 18-yo freshman who stepped up.

Got it! I actually just saw the replay on X. I really wish we could have walked them off!

    4-1 isn’t bad.

Need to get those wins against Moo State.

    First weekend reactions:

Ellestad is a good addition. Solid bat and fields the SS position well. We had trouble there last year.

Landry is Landry. Team didn’t help her today. The Friday version was pretty special.

Not sure who our #2 is, but it’s opening weekend.

Defense altogether is still too inconsistent.

Is Campbell injured? I know she hit the granny on Friday, but would have liked to see her today. We were pretty anti clutch and she may have helped.

Don't think Campbell is injured, just not starting. I really thought we had it in the 7th. Davis has to put the ball on the ground and use her speed. Cal executed and we didn't.

Sam needs to throw a higher percentage of change ups. It's such a good one that it speeds up and slows down the eye. JMO

Thought the same about Davis. With a wet track she has the advantage. I had a premonition she’d slap it in play and Cal would slip or there it away. Would have been a great ending.

Maybe she shouldn't have taken her glasses of in the 8th.
