Realistic Attendance Improvement Suggestions.

1. Have family ticket packages that are reasonably priced

2. Get team involved with local elementary/middle schools with ticket giveaways

3. Have in game events that are exciting, promoted, etc...... Do a car giveaway half or 3/4 court shot promoted with a local car dealership. Have it on the radio, news, etc.... and it only costs the insurance policy.

4. Concession prices are an issue especially if you go with a family

5. Free ticket giveaways before and during season. Ideally you would want people to buy tickets but we have 80% of the arena empty on a regular basis. Give a 100 or so away each game and try to get those folks to start coming on their own if they like the product.

6. Make an honest effort to replace the Cajun Chicken entertainment at games. Doesn't specifically have to be that costume but that in itself made the games much more fun back in the day.

I like all these ideas.

For the game Sunday I would have offered free GA tickets to pack the dome. Call it Super Dome Sunday or something. Or buy 1 get 1 free; something to create the demand.

You aren't losing any money giving away something that didn't sell. Now if free tickets doesn't generate a crowd, you have a real problem. But don't we need to know this in order to fix it.

I know the Dome probably controls concessions and prices inside the Dome, but what about inviting whatever food trucks want to set up under the Cajundome pavilion by the entrance?

Cajundome folks will probably say no outside food/drinks allowed inside. This partnership with the Cajundome isn't helping. Will probably be less inclined to cooperate and do us any favors since athletics moved to Paciolan and they won't get to skim off the top of Ticketmaster anymore.

But I could see myself getting there early with kids in tow and grubbing on some food truck cuisine before heading inside.

I’ve asked this in other threads and it’s never really been answered but why is the Cajundome the only venue that $2 nattys aren’t available for Cajuns sporting events? I’ve seen the concession workers wearing artisan shirts in the dome. Is that a different company that the dome uses? It’s not Sodexo? Anyone with knowledge that can explain would be much appreciated.

Different company. Nothing like the $5 Dome Foams in the old days. Student section was wild, BBoyd was draining threes, Southall backing down & dunking on guys in the paint, all high flying excitement.

I only make 1-2 games a year because I live 40 minutes away & have family athletics at least 6 nights a week.

Give tickets to the biddy basketball league in Youngsville. It is to late no the season ended but there are thousands of kids that play in that league.

Sometimes life gets in the way, have ticket redemption events.

Knowing in advance there is no danger of wasting your money can be a ticket buying motivator.

All good ideas. Will take multiple strategies to rebuild the MBB fanbase targeting UL students and the age 24-54 demographic that is busy rearing their families. That age group and their children are our future. Agree with the suggestion of affordability is key= weekend game season tickets would be attractive especially to families getting pinched hard in this inflationary environment. Overpriced concessions is problematic (university needs to resolve this problem), so feed the family pregame to cut down on that spend.

We've discussed here in past threads a measurement of success is making the NCAA's at least once every three years. This year looks there for the taking again. Two years back to back will awaken the fan base, too.

Go across the street, get that blue tent at CF and put 3 48" ice chests full of $2 Natty, iced down,. If that doesn't improve attendance then I have no idea. That's the best I got. Speaking of "best" have a throwback night and fill those ice chests full of "Beast" (Old Milwaukee's Best). That was the no.1 beer back in the days of M. Southaw, B.Boyd, etc.

Again, that's the best I got. There's plenty of good ideas being suggested, this is only mine.
