It is too late this season for overall basketball attendance to be addressed. A serious review of the situation needs to be performed by the administration in the off season. A few ideas presented here in this thread have merit. Perhaps they will be considered. Having said that, we do have four home games remaining, starting tomorrow night. The team has entertained the folks who do attend in the recent home stand. That will likely continue. Note, the strong student athletes in all our programs will be recognized tomorrow night. They deserve to be honored by fans, hopefully some of you can make the game.
Maybe I would have. However there are a lot more like me who don’t care anymore and that’s the problem.
There used to be a lot more excitement around program. Now I doubt most people in the area even know that UL went to tourney last year. They definitely don’t know they have won 7 in a row.
I bet it is more than a maybe you would have enjoyed the games. Perhaps close to a definite. Watching the way Joe CharIes plays makes you proud he is a a Cajun. I agree that the apathy is an issue. Our social media folks do a great job promoting all our sports. However, that is not enough in this area. We may not have lots of folks viewing those sites in this area. Perhaps more traditional promotions on radio and television are needed. Radio promotions should be over all venues, not just the sports stations.
This team is exciting, but the atmosphere in that dome is dead. The students that do go sit on their hands and the rest of the fans belong in a nursing home. That cavernous behemoth was the death blow to Ragin Cajuns basketball.
