MBB: Charles Named LSWA Player of the Week

LOUISIANA - Joe Charles was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week after averaging a double-double and helping the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns to their sixth and seventh consecutive wins.

The junior averaged 17.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in wins over ULM and South Alabama. This season Charles has nine double-doubles and is just two rebounds shy of averaging a double-double for the year.

In Wednesday's win over ULM, Charles had 19 points, from a career-high five threes, along with 11 rebounds and three steals. He followed that with a 16-point, 15-rebound performance in which he grabbed four steals against South Alabama.

The Carencro product continues to lead the Sun Belt Conference in rebounds at 11.1 per game and is second in steals at 2.0 per game during conference play.
