Parking Guidelines: Louisiana Classics Softball Tournament

The Louisiana Athletics Department has announced parking guidelines to assist fans attending the 38th Annual Louisiana Classics softball tournament at Yvette Girouard Field Lamson Park the weekend of February 8-11.

The instructions below detail changes made to game day parking for the Louisiana Classics weekend only, made necessary by the Mardi Gras festivities surrounding the Athletics Complex/Cajun Field.

Thursday, February 8
normal game day parking at Lamson Park (reserved/Lot A) and Cajun Field (general admission)

Friday, February 9
reserved parking (Lot A) will be accessible at Lamson Park
park and SHUTTLE from Health Sciences Campus beginning at 9:30 a.m. (611 St. Landry St.)
park and WALK from Print Shop and Intramural Fields (500 Coliseum Rd.)

Saturday, February 10
park and SHUTTLE from Health Sciences Campus beginning at 9:30 a.m. (611 St. Landry St.)
park and WALK from Print Shop and Intramural Fields (500 Coliseum Rd.)

Sunday, February 11
reserved parking (Lot A) will be accessible at Lamson Park
park and SHUTTLE from Print Shop and Intramural Fields beginning at 7:30 a.m. (500 Coliseum Rd.)

Shuttle operations from Friday (Feb. 9) through Sunday (Feb. 11) will continue up until one (1) hour after the completion of the last game.

Fans should be advised that beginning on Friday, February 9, a fee applies to park at Cajun Field.

I think that's because of the fair. UL should have a certain number of spots designated for softball.

That’s an easy walk. Or do like some able bodied people do and hang a handicapped tag on their vehicle. Won’t contribute enough to the program to purchase a parking spot.

I actually prefer parking there. Nice walk through the park, through the underpass and it’s super easy in and out.
