    Default Maggard Quote

"We’re really good in the creative space — video, graphics, social media, communications," Maggard said. "Those two areas right there can benefit both recruiting and revenue generation. It’s how you sell yourself to the public, to the masses, matters" .....???

They aren’t disconnected, not in the slightest. We aren’t the clientele they are after. They could care less if we buy tickets, think I’m wrong look at basketball.

The people they are after are the Le Triumph, Oakborne, River Ranch crowd. The rest of us peasants don’t matter.

In the whole scheme of things, that may not even be a crowd . . . and if so, a rather small one . . .

That tier is much more likely to engage (and at greater levels) if they feel there are active tiers below on the ladder to the top.

The peasants may not matter to the plan, but the plan will never reach full potential if the desired clientel feel they are shockingly still the bottom rung.

Isn’t that what we are already seeing?

Basketball…”class of the SBC” yet bottom 4 in attendance.

Football…idiotic parking policies, coupled with out pricing fans in todays financial market with inflation. Top 5 program in the SBC…bottom 5 in attendance.

Whatever their plan is it’s failing. College sports is about the atmosphere, fans and athletes. Not F’n money…but all that’s over now.

As a G5 we can’t emulate P5 programs, we have to be different and these bozos in charge haven’t realized that, yet.

For the record, Maggard has disappointed me lately, but he is still a good AD.

Inevitable outcome when he is removed from the pulse and parked at Martin Hall.

He still has skills, just not properly utilized.

That is a rather small target market but would explain attendance

Basically, football and basketball fans are the same fans as those that attend baseball and softball games. Have to ask why are those venues so successful and not football and basketball? What is it at those two sporting events that keep fans returning and supporting? Marketing, atmosphere, fan interaction, facilities, winning and/or something else? These things are missing in football, despite when we were winning under Napier. A new football facility is coming. Basketball has the facility and is winning. Why don't fans show up? There are 2 areas to address - students and public/fans. I think it is the game day atmosphere and fan interaction like we have at baseball and softball games that keep them coming back and supporting. Students help create that atmosphere and need to be marketed perhaps differently than the public/fans. Get the students at the games, create an exciting and participating atmosphere, continue to win and market that to the public. The money comes from the public/fans, but the students come first to create the atmosphere that draws the fans.

Where is the "Section A" of basketball and football?

Atmosphere always starts with the students for basketball and football. UL will have to do a better job getting them there instead of harassing them.

not physically in the dome, but the actual group themselves... where's the group with a social media presence not associated with the university? the group that opponents talk about being a homecourt advantage, etc.?
