ULM budgets the full 3% max allowed; UL only budgets 2%.
That 1% for UL is $10-12,000,000 less than max allowed.

So when UL is over budget by 8 million.......they were actually under full max budget allowed by 2-4 million.

Why does UL only budget 66% of the state max allowable funds? No clue. My best guess is.....
LTURd"s max 3% and our budgeted 2% are nearly the same value. UL is roughly 1/3 larger.

UL.has been under budgeting for years.....they only budget for 2% of revenue vs the allowable 3%. In the past 2 decades......they were under max allowable budget roughly $150,000,000

    That’s a lot of money.

You can make a nice down-payment on a football stadium with that kind of money.

Also, remember, Iowa St. was in the B12 championship game that in 2020. They had really good season that helped keep us in the top 20. They lost to Ok 27-20 or thereabouts.

Purdy was pretty the rest of the year.

What is the actual General Fund for the university? I don’t have time to look it up at the moment.

Dont forget Breece Hall as well who was Big 12 player of the year in 20 and 21...also beat down Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl same year.

Look at the last OOC game Alabama lost until Texas. Constantly brought up ULM.

UL needs to figure out multiple issues quick or we’ll really be on par with ULM.
I think that's a different discussion in contrast to a scheduling strategy. There is no debate that defeating a P5 program gives your program resume a boast. But scheduling to give your program the best chance to compete for a conference championship doesn't require scheduling multiple P5 programs yearly. That's what I disagree with.

Yes, no debate. Now does it require UL to schedule multiple guaranteed P5 games a season to achieve that goal?

UL has not taken the transfer allowed by the state yearly allowed for a number of years now under Dr. Savoie. ULM and Louisiana Tech continue to take that institutional support. Dr. Savoie said from the beginning that if Athletics was to move forward it would have to fund itself.

...and scheduling 2 P5's per year hurt doesn't your chances for a Conference Championship either.

Doesn't help if you lose both and the manner in which we lost.

Losing to four P5 programs has no direct effect on winning a Sunbelt Conference Championship.

It could have a lateral effect if you lose confidence in yourself or your team, panic, and try to make too many changes mid season.

I doubt beating a couple three or four P5s would create overconfidence in conference.
