FFS. It's subjective. A chain is made of "many" locations sharing the same name and concept. If you think 3 is many then I guess its a chain in your eyes. However, when most people think of chains they think of McDonalds or any other restaurant that is stretched amongst states etc.. Keep trying though.

There was also another I believe at the corner of Guilbeaux and Johnston. They were everywhere.

The meat markets then were quite different than the meat markets now.
If you're referencing Jacob's Restaurant (and, at one time, filling station, too), it was actually located at Four Corners, as was Toby's Oak Grove.

There was also a place called "Snaks" at four corners about where Kevin's Seafood is now. It was a greasy spoon for sure. You could get a bite to eat and a communicable disease at the same time.

FFS can’t you count? Superior Grill Inc. will have 5 locations under its umbrella.
McDonald’s are franchisees for McDonalds. It matters not if it’s across the nation or in a single state.
But you do you. It matters not to me.
    Bye

Looks like we need to enroll all of the administration for a course at Snaks . . . or maybe Toby’s Oak Grove . . . Either way, surely their communication skills would only go up with that COMMUNICABLE disease . . .

It appears something can be defined as a chain regardless of corporate ownership or franchisee arrangement.
The McDonald brothers for example owned 6 of their own restaurants that were part of a "chain" before Mr Ray Kroc became involved, yet there were also two franchisee locations

Update bump, from their FB post on their closing:

Drago's Lafayette is permanently closed effective 2/17/2024. We would like to thank the Acadiana community and our local partners for all of your support over the past six years. This was a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location that we assure you is not cursed! Rising food costs, along with the current economic conditions, are challenges that Drago's and many other restaurants could not overcome in the Lafayette market.

There was a house on a corner of 16th and (can’t remember the cross street, east side of TW) where politicians had a “meat market” decades ago. Multiple 10 x 10 rooms with a single bed. People knew it solely by the proprietor's first name (long deceased).
