Michaels needs to relocate that operation across Congress from the north ez (the levee). They seem to be killing it though, way out in bfe.

Way too much over generalization here for any of this to be correct.
1. Every chain literally starts with one unit.
2. Every unit, chain or not is usually owned by an entity (corporation, LLC, partnership)
3. A chain is not generally corporate owned. Sonic is a chain. The units are owned some by the Franchisor and others by a number of franchisees. McDonalds is a chain. The units are owned some by the Franchisor and others by a number of franchisees. Pizza Hut is a chain. The units are owned some by the Franchisor and others by a number of franchisees.
Best Stop is on the way to becoming a chain.
3. Superior is now a set of units all ultimately owned by the same owner. That is subject to change as they continue to grow and add units. Superior literally is destined to become a chain.
There was another meat market back in the early 80’s across the street from Jacob’s at the corner of Cameron and Ambassador Caffery under the big eauque at that corner which was called Toby’s I believe. They also had a friendly game of Texas Holdem there.
There was also another I believe at the corner of Guilbeaux and Johnston. They were everywhere.
The meat markets then were quite different than the meat markets now.
Victim of their own success. Another Louisiana specific operation would be Gravois Boats in Jenearette/Franklin now known as Metal Shark. Mr. J. Gravois has gone from being known as a great aluminum boat builder down the road by that old oak to best in the area to best in region to best in the state to maybe the best in the South (huge statement) to among the top in the entire United States He enters a bid on the biggest new build vessel contract ever issued by Homeland through the United States Coast Guard, beats this builder in Seattle, and becomes the largest U.S. Government Contractor in 50' or less new builds, the Government then starts marketing his vessels for him and through Foreign Military Sales, now builds the feets of foreign nations.
How the acorn becomes the oak. Now it's our time to do this at Louisiana.
