La Pagua and El Patrillo are my personal top two favorite Mexican restaurants in town.

I'm going to have to give that one a try.

Oof… so then to recruit a new tenant, they will likely have to do the same by offering a lower initial lease. Rinse and repeat I suppose

Sometimes one over estimates their leverage and poof, they have no more leverage.

Maybe our CHSNI guys could confirm this, da berry lore had a famous local politician tell his son one afternoon not to leave his new bike too close to the house that night. Allegedly, the house burned and the namesake told his fb teammates at practice about it. Dogged the boy mercilessly.
    Puggy!

Same here. Gonna have to try the other one Esqueleto mentioned though. Gotta say one thing I miss from growing up in Lake Charles (East Texas) is the opportunity for some tex-mex when I’m craving that.

I was shocked when the first seafood restaurant to ever open in Lafayette, Dons Downtown, closed its doors after almost 100 years.

But they let that place age out of existence. The atmosphere was down right horrible in the last years of its existence. Right before it closed, they tried making a more modern bar at the entrance, however I believe it was too late.

Also, many of the regular week day patrons moved from Downtown to more in the Kaliste Saloom, Camilia, Ambassadar Caffery areas. That also hurt them tremendously.

La Fiesta Mexican Grill in Broussard is my new number 1 for Mexican. Very reasonably priced, good atmosphere, great service and they have quesa birrias (Birria Tacos) on Saturday and Sunday.

El Patrillo has really good food, service, and prices. The only drawback for me is the location.

Went there the other night with some friends. Real good stuff. Would definitely go back.
