Drago came into a market known for seafood with many options. What exactly did their menu offer that you could not find elsewhere in the area? Unfortunately, Lafayette is a unique market when it comes to the restaurant and hospitality industry. You better bring something unique and different, and your operations better be top notch.

If the horde of thirty-something year old soccer/baseball/softball moms in Lafayette like to go there for a 'Rita beweeen games, there is nothing we can do about it.

It was a service station a very long time ago. (Back when the drive in theater was still operating).Texaco I think. They tore it down and built a shoe town. Then the succession of bars and restaurants. Tucans was owned by Bobby Silor. A bar/restaurant owner that had establishments that would have "fires". The joke around town was "how much gasoline does it take to burn a restaurant down.....toucans".
All I have to say is the only thing in common with all the establishments that were there is the landlord.

We used to go to Serrano's. It was good, but after a while, nobody would go anymore because it was too crowded.

We went to a place there where they would play cajun music on Saturday mornings; this was before there was a tailgating experience at Cajun Field so we used to stop by for a few beers and a little dancing before we headed to the game.

I forget the name of it.

I’ve always said Chick-fil-A would kill there. Now it’s unlikely due to the close proximity of the new one on Johnston St.

Bad food. Great atmosphere for this area: live music, big patios, chips and dip, alcohol, very accommodating for larger groups.

The same thing happened downtown. We went downtown to eat at a restaurant I had never been to before, Cafe Luna. Well, when we get to the address we find it had closed the week before. Same reason, the owner jacked up the rent significantly. And this was after the tenants revamped their bar (so I was told since i never made it inside); in hindsight they should have renegotiated the lease before they invested in the upgrade, but sometimes you just don't expaec the greed!

They have two locations in Lake Charles and I made it a point to visit one while we were in town a few months back. I found it to be a neat place with good food and atmosphere. Too bad they have such a bad memory of Lafayette.
Lunas was excellent every time we wet . Sad it closed was a cool spot

Helps when you have middle eastern backers.
