Drago's is closing

Man, I miss Booties that was in that location many years ago.

Reality is that Drago's food flat out "SUX", if not for the oysters no one would really ever eat there. The oysters are great, the rest of the menu is at best mahhhhh.

Drago came into a market known for seafood with many options. What exactly did their menu offer that you could not find elsewhere in the area? Unfortunately, Lafayette is a unique market when it comes to the restaurant and hospitality industry. You better bring something unique and different, and your operations better be top notch.

It was a service station a very long time ago. (Back when the drive in theater was still operating).Texaco I think. They tore it down and built a shoe town. Then the succession of bars and restaurants. Tucans was owned by Bobby Silor. A bar/restaurant owner that had establishments that would have "fires". The joke around town was "how much gasoline does it take to burn a restaurant down.toucans".
All I have to say is the only thing in common with all the establishments that were there is the landlord.

We went to a place there where they would play cajun music on Saturday mornings; this was before there was a tailgating experience at Cajun Field so we used to stop by for a few beers and a little dancing before we headed to the game.
