Louisiana track and field has a new entry into the record books after the men's distance medley relay team finished with the second-best time in program history at the Robert Platt Invitational in Houston, Texas.

The team, consisting of Samuel Avants, Antoni Hoyte-Small, Andrew Leck, and Peyton Chiasson, crossed the finish line at 10:01.71. They finished nearly five seconds ahead of the previous second-fastest time, set last season with a group also consisting of Chiasson. For the event, the team finished third, not far behind Little Rock's winning time of 9:58.17.

The women's DMR team also had a strong showing, with the team of Isabelle Russell, Juliana Courville, Brooke Spalitta, and Haley Salsbury placing fourth with a time of 12:30.17.

Reem Tammam finished fourth in the triple jump, clearing 40 feet 7.5 inches, missing the podium by just three inches.
