It’s the third party contract model USL just loves. No work, mailbox money. Look no further than the bookstore deal. And that’s the plan, contract everything out. Got it from my own “birdie”.

    And this gem…

Had a heated conversation with my kids about this.

Make no mistakethis started at TSAB.

The Silva kid was accused of sexual assault while he was at TSAB, and this allegedly occurred on the physical campus. Title 9, if I remember correctly from our conversation, required that TSAB contact ALL campuses in the state to report the incident.

    They didn't.

Silva kid transfers to UL and was subsequently accused of additional assaults that occurred OFF of the UL campus and the investigation was conducted by City PD, and if memory serves me correct, LPD did not contact UL or anybody else in the state (which I don't think Title 9 can obligate them to do). I don't remember if the kid was referred for criminal charges here.

Kid subsequently transfers to Latex and (maybe?) committed another offense there? At this point, I don't remember what happend with the Latex PD or the Ruston PD.

And maybe I'm being petty, but read the first amendment attorney's comments on the issue regarding subpoenas.

While the suit involves the UL system, the attorney (who admittedly is probably just being interviewed to provide some filler.and graduated from the TSAB Hebert school) said, "I think that anytime a government agency, including a school like UL, sends a subpoena for a reporter, it should be the exception, and a really narrow exception at that".

I'm sure this is a misquote on the part of a TSAB graduate who would never assign the label "UL" to the public university in Lafayette. I'm sure this was a slip of the tongue and he in no way meant to imply it was UL and not the entire UL system involved in the suit.
