Pleading for fans to show up and they can’t even keep the lights on. Typical. That must be budget recovery plan #1. Save on utilities.
Anyone know what the mechanical equipment is on the flatbed trailer parked near the rear entrance of the dome? Almost looked like a backup generator. Been there for a week or two.
Nah, nobody ever biotches here on RP.
It is all my fault.....i jinxed us.
Il lived out of state for nearly 40.years now. So I'm in town visiting family a couple days and convinced my little bros to go to.game tonight. 1st time in years I'm in the Cajundome. Watching warm.ups and boom....all lights go off.
My apologies.....didnt mean to jinx us as I really enjoy watching this team play.
All buildings with "ASSEMBLY" occupancy must have backup power in cases like this. The stand by electric capacity is only for, exit lights, aisle lights, means of egress lights, area of refuge lights and public address power. It can be in the form of an autonomous generator or battery. It is not intended as a full "whole house" power supply. Everything is spelled out in the Life Safety Code. Good reading to cure insomnia.
Indoor events with large crowds can attract the attention of the fire Marshal. Believe it or not the fire Marshal can force a venue to shut down when blatant or excessive safety issues are involved. He/she is the ultimate authority in emergency situations not the event promoter. The fire Marshal is a badge carrying, fire arm toting branch of the state police and has arrest authority should things get to that point. They usually wear a bright white highly starched shirt, side arm, navy blue or blue pants and polished black shoes. They are not to be taken lightly and they typically get what they want or you wind up in jail.
