Focusing on belated, there are so many untapped reservoirs or future money growth that didn't require exorbitant price increases.

Every single exorbitant price increase looks good on paper, but it actually cost the school money and did not make money.

Many rail against loss leaders but they fuel future income, they don't derail it.

Those opportunities are water under the bridge, but there are more to be had.
Nobody ever said they were smart but to say they lack financial support is just not correct.

    Granted.

The support is definitely in the cart.

They need to put it in the horse.

$8 million in advertising is pennies for an R1 Institution bringing in billions.

Doesn't mean they need to get careless with other peoples money.

Time to go back to the grassroots efforts of bus tours and preseason RCAF parties like we used to have. Creating an opportunity cost through the fans has become a need recently.

Will you be riding the bus that you promote at every turn?

We will never be on the level of LSU because we canÂ’t even keep our own graduates as fans or donors.

Failure to captivate and cultivate new fans from the student body is the reason we problems with attendance and donations now.
If you don’t think the political support behind one university in a historically poor state doesn’t hamstring the other universities (of which there are too many), then we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

You are 100% correct on the inability to bring in new students as fans being a huge problem. The university has hurt itself in that regard for 30 years (and probably longer). It’s torpedoed the ability to get more season ticket sales and donations.

He didn't say that wasn't one cause. He just said continuing to use that excuse while ignoring other self-controlled causes is tiresome...and quite lame, to be honest.
