Plenty of our peers are selling out events and season tickets and traveling for games, etc. The difference is, those programs are committed to excellence, communicate with their base, have a plan for NIL and don't lower their standards when "money is tight."
So we using NIL as a scapegoat now for lack of attendance…another one to add to the list…

Can't argue with the point how much our support has dropped across the board. Now what can be done about it. People have given suggestions on how to improve things. Hopefully the folks in charge find merit in some. Basketball wise, things could be better next season as the non conference home schedule will be more attractive. Ticket Master will go away and the bulk of the guys on this year's team should return. A strong finish to this season may give encouragement to the community that next year's team will be fun to watch.

Regardless of the coach this team is very fun to watch and deserves our support. Let’s give them the support on this home stretch. Geaux Cajuns !

Yeah, the idea that basketball coach wants fans to support his team is just crazy.

He's befuddled that people aren't coming to the games, and in the same breath does the very thing that keeps us away. It's amazing to witness.
He should be encouraged to get out into the community. Take a page out of Hud's playbook. Go to civic lunches and organizations rallying support for a good team.

It’s the concept of the coach actually trying to integrate into the community. Not just the people who are in the rebounders club. Marlin doesn’t seem to do that very well.

Hudspeth and Jessie Evan’s were always out and about and actually engaged people almost on the daily.

Coaches nowadays have to be a man of the people with all the free streaming of every game, other entertainment options etc.
Bob is just not that type of person I guess.

I'm just waiting on interest rates to get a little better before I go take out that bank loan to be able to buy tickets and refreshments for 3 to attend a home game.

Nothing wrong with CBM wanting fans to come back, even though a long shot. Feels like we've been on glidepath to apathy since middle of Coach Lee's tenure. There's been a few bright spots during Coach Marlin's long tenure here, but we've already debated fan expectations here in the past. The reality is the Administration is not in alignment with its fans expectations and vice versa. Until that changes fan apathy will continue.

Regarding Foote's article it was annoying in the way it was bouncing back and forth from men's to women's to men's to women's basketball. Why not create a separate article for each? Its a false premise to assume fans of men's Cajuns basketball care to read about lady Cajuns basketball and vice versa.
