The law says you have to put an "at" between the two.

The run on phrase infuses "Lafayette" as part of the name.

Its been 40 years, so you, may not remember this but the law simply states that if you us the full "Univeristy of Louisiana" you must include where you are at, with an "at"

This is as a first reference clarifier.

The academic side has been known to use the Lafayette in every utterance over 20 times in one article a few years back.

When the academic side mentions athletics they never use "Louisiana" (which is legal) rarely use Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, but always include UL Lafayette.

Louisiana.edu is legal too.

They have done no such thing.

They said don't use "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns" or Ragin Cajuns.

I imagine that would extend to don't use UL Lafayette.

There is a context to be made!!

I try to read between the lines. If you were personally contacted by her and she said, "Please do not use any signage in regard to this spirit leader," okay, I get that.

If you wanted to end it just give an explanation on this mascot(spirit leader) doesnt align with our values. No need for lawyers.

If someone from their legal department said, "Look, we will come after you if you use any signage that doesn't align with our core principles as a mascot," then, if the second scenario happened, they will stop at nothing to shut it down.

Also, how did KADN get it? Wouldn't you want it to happen in-house? So who leaked it and why? If the University leaked it, then that is very shady on their part.

As an upstanding citizen with morals and integrity, why wouldn't you just email and be done with it? Why would you comment to a news agency?
