Just reading this thread, should let people know how hard it is to reach people in general. The admin takes a lot of heat, and at times they should , but its hard in these streets. simple communication gets lost some how, announcements intended to discourage and drown out anything positive. This may or may not work, but why the need to convince others that it wont. nothing is being hidden from the ones that want to participate.
Good luck to the future of the fan base. allowing excitement to run free and grow is only a good thing.
How about put all of the recent treads regarding the mascot on one thread?
It has nothing to do with a genetic condition. It’s about being rare and unique. Albino gators are pretty rare and the Ragin’ Cajuns namesake is probably one of the most unique names out there. There’s so many people that want to go back to a bulldog but what does a bulldog have to do with Ragin Cajun culture except for looking back at our past. On top of that there’s way more universities that have a bulldog has a mascot. We have to stand out and this is one way to do it.
On almost every sideline of a sporting event, there is one unique figure that draws the crowd in like no other: the mascot. From pumping up the crowd with various sideline shenanigans to being the school’s self-proclaimed entertainment officer, mascots serve an important purpose in sports.
In college sports, these figures are household names putting a face to the school’s fan bases. The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns are one of few Division I universities without an official mascot, and it’s been that way since 2013. But Cajun country is hoping that’s not the case for long, as fans are pushing for a new face for the Ragin’ Cajuns.
I worked on this Louis & Ana combo (white & vermilion) combo in 2005.
The red one is from the same picture, filtered cropped and zoomed in a little.
