I forgot about another pair. I was in Mississippi at a cousin's house for the summer of 1964. One of my friends managed to sneak us in to some kind of event going on in a tent in Calhoun City, MS, to see Ace Cannon; and I saw Fats Domino play at the Rec Center in Abbeville, about 1967.
Just curious if any RP’ers went to the Turnpike Troubadours show in BR last night. What an insanely talented lineup. It was my first real experience with Trampled By Turtles. Elite level musicianship.
I know this thread hasn't been used in a minute, but I just wanted to let y'all know that I decided to go ahead and make a new podcast dedicated to music, called "E-Dude Talks Music". This is by no means a replacement of AFR, but rather a new spot for me to discuss something I'm also very passionate about! It's only on Spotify right now, but I'll be sure to add it to other sites ASAP. Feel free to subscribe if you'd like! I probably won't post the episodes on here, so if you're interested I'd recommend giving the show a follow so that you can receive updates! Thanks! Here's the link:

I am going to the Bourbon and beyond festival in Louisville, KY in September. The line up is incredible and I can't wait to go. Dave Matthews, Tedeschi Trucks, Red Clay Strays, Son Volt, Wallflower, Beck, Matchbox 20, Mt. Joy, Wild Feathers, Lyle Lovett, JJ Gray and the Mofro's, War and Treaty, on and on. Plus special bourbon tasting, craft beer bars, Tiki Bars, my kind of event.
KeeYaw.
What fun
If you’ve never seen JJ Gray live before you’re in for a treat. I think they sound better live. It made me a bigger fan. Same with Cody Johnson. I saw him in Nola end of May. I was somewhat of a fan but watching him live made me appreciate his music that much more. He was awesome.
