Thread: Louisiana Hires

Scott Stoker, son of Butch Stoker long time head coach at ASH. Scott was a HS QB that made his mark on the defensive side of the ball. Intense player and coach.
I think it is a great hire. A former HC and DC.

Jeff Norrid is a proven commodity and well respected in coaching circles. (That comes from Rob Sale.)

    He is a huge loss.

Billy Napier said CMD was a great hire. So there is that.

Have you ever made a positive comment? How could you not be impressed with the experience of the experience that both coaches bring to the staff.

The truth hurts.. One has been unemployed the last 2 Novembers . The other a coach from a made up sounding D2 transitioning college.

Billy also went for 2 down 11...can you really trust his judgment?

Speaks volumes for the respect Desormeaux has in the coaching community from those who know him best.

i can definitely see arguments for, can you tell me why it is a bad move going for two there.

you get it and a touchdown and field goal win it. you dont get it a td (2point) and FG tie it.
you kick it and make it ten a td (xp) and field goal still tie it.
you get it and make it nine, a td for the other team keeps it at a two possession game, you kick it and a td makes it a 3 possession game, you dont get it and its still a 3 possession game.
i fail to see the gotcha in your comment.

it's still a 2 score game if you kick the extra point or go for 2. It is also 55% less likely to convert a 2-point conversion than an extra point. So you take a massive risk for a very marginal gain.

And is going to a staff that will likely be fired come December ...

Let’s have at least some modicum of perspective here. One of the major knocks on CMD’s hire was lack of outside Louisiana experience. He hires two guys with mounds of experience and that gets knocked. We are Louisiana and still in the G5. Is there any coach who we can afford and is willing to come here ever going to be ok?
