I now think with the scope of this portal and NIL world, Dez should be open to accepting guys back, under certain conditions being met. There are so many moving pieces and this is the new normal, some times we have to change how we feel/think and adjust to the new landscape.

Not fair to guys that decide to stay and compete for a position with UL. He made his choice. Move on.

An interesting take would be to know how his teammates would respond if he was allowed back …
Also, how would this move affect the NIL deal that was in the works. I’d think it would be significantly less than before!

While I can appreciate cutting ties with any particular player, I also think leaving the door open for return sends a a good message to other players.

All that said, I’d let this be a senior class decision. Call your seniors together and let them have input on whether or not someone can come back

I would not let them back. Set a precedent now. If you let them come back out of the portal you’ll have half your roster entering every year to test the waters.

TAMU roster turnover is crazy......53 portals leaving program the last 2 years. 31 last year, 22 so far this year. The primary reason I post this.....a good # are within our recruiting footprint in Texas.

Downfall being.....pretty much every Aggie on scholarship is well paid too.

I watched a little. Good hands, decent speed, hard to tackle, good blocker, disruptive on defense. Looks like a true athlete, can play all over the field. I don't see him on 247 or on3 websites so likely never scouted. He is on hudl, but wish he was listed to see if he had interest from other schools.

Looking thru X, he was offered by several FCS schools and only found 1 FBS offer from Toledo.

I would say let the team take a vote and set a percentage that the vote has to get to in order for any player to come back out of the portal.

Question is: Is a player's scholarship automatically terminated when he/she enters the portal?
