KMRCradio.com is a local Swamp pop radio station with a logo of a Swamp dawg that looks awesome!
Would fit so perfectly (a really tough dog emerging from a swamp).

No to more Bulldogs
This doesn’t even make sense. Dogs don’t live in swamps.
The Alabama Elephant was an organic nickname, a lot like Ragin’Cajuns. A writer who was standing amongst them said he felt like he was surrounded by elephants or something along those lines. LSU took the name from a Confederate unit in the Civil War.
FOr whats it worth...per CHatGPT
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the University of Alabama's official mascot is an elephant named "Big Al." The origin of the elephant as the university's mascot is associated with a particular football game in 1930.
During a game between the University of Alabama and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) on October 8, 1930, sportswriter Everett Strupper of the Atlanta Journal wrote a story describing Alabama's football team as "the red elephants." The term "red elephants" caught on, and over time, the elephant became associated with the University of Alabama's athletic teams.
The university officially adopted the elephant as its mascot, and "Big Al" made its debut as the costumed mascot in 1979. Since then, the elephant has become a beloved symbol of the University of Alabama, particularly in connection with its successful football program.
Please note that details may have changed since my last update in January 2022, so it's a good idea to check more recent sources for the latest information.
Geezus. Why would we try and reintroduce a bulldog???? All this talk of separation and we go with a mascot LaTech already has. Genius
