Thread: Louisiana AD Bryan Maggard on football season, NIL, what's to follow stadium renovation

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Louisiana AD Bryan Maggard on football season, NIL, what's to follow stadium renovation

The calendar year is coming to a close.

And for Louisiana Athletics Director Bryan Maggard, who’s approaching his seventh year on the job, there’s plenty to reflect back on as 2023 is about to be put in the rearview mirror. Some of that being positive and elevating things for the Ragin’ Cajuns and the athletic department as well as areas he needs to growth in.

Same old questions....same tired answers. Good to see baseball club house on the radar..He has no clue how to engage fans with fund raising...

Diaz: Desormeaux was not extended the annual one-year extension on his contract after year one. Do you anticipate him having a year tacked on to his deal?

Maggard: I anticipate us having a conversation after the bowl and we’ll go from there.

I'm guessing it was a no

    Interesting tidbit of note:

"For us, you will see a new five-year strategic plan in January."

    Looking forward to it.

I was hoping that Cajun Courts would move to across the T & F facility on Reinhardt, so we could incorporate that current space into a bigger Champion Square, but sounds like that’s not the plan. It would also give the Tigue some breathing room.

The current location of CC would make for a really nice tailgating space and lord knows we have plenty of space in the football parking lot for a new CC. Too bad we don’t have unlimited funds.

I had to laugh at the answer to the “where was the mark missed” question. Names our two most successful programs who once again achieved success in 2023. Cant make this stuff up.

I think he was just starting from the beginning of the year. It was also before the bowl game loss, so maybe he didn’t feel like talking about the football season before it was done

Perhaps the mark was lower and going above the mark is still "missing" the mark.

j/k but that is odd to pick those two.

All we need is a multi billionaire sugar daddy to fund NIL

Technically if he was starting at the beginning of the year, wouldn’t he have talked about basketball missing their chance in the postseason against Tennessee?

I would like to see championship square and tailgating in front of the football stadium and near the baseball stadium. It needs to be front & center for Congress St. Don’t hide it in a corner.

Haven't our higher ups made it pretty clear that they're not interested in naming anything 'championship square', 'champions drive', etc, for fear of being made fun of by LSU fans?
