Haven't our higher ups made it pretty clear that they're not interested in naming anything 'championship square', 'champions drive', etc, for fear of being made fun of by LSU fans?

Waaaat? Where have you heard that? This plaza idea has been talked about since at least 2015 or so, and was included in the athletic master plan. When they talk about it they usually refer to it as champion square. Not to mention a lot of other schools have similar venues.

About moving it to a more visible location, I can see why that has some good points, but I like the idea of the Cox building area. That would make centrally located for all the programs…….FB, Baseball, softball, etc. Plus it would be neat for the fans to be there to cheer on the FB team as they exit the APC and enter the tunnel into CF.

I would like to see championship square and tailgating in front of the football stadium and near the baseball stadium. It needs to be front & center for Congress St. Don’t hide it in a corner.

Agreed, but from a strategic position not associated with traffic the SEZ is more desirable.
