If Tennnessee had played Washington instead of Ball State or Tennessee Martin.
If Alabama had played Washington instead of Chatanooga.
If OleMiss had played Washington instead of Mercer.
If LSU or Missouri had played Washington instead of Grambling.
If Tennessee had played Washington instead of Austin Peay ....
Washington would have played a lot of games on the same day, ( ) and of course this could never happen but we would have a much clearer picture of how good the SEC (and W) were this past season.
Washington’s (and the PAC12) biggest problems are they’re 1) pretty much out of sight, out of mind and 2) they usually have one game set up by ESPN and the media surfs that outcome for the year.
SEC is just the measuring stick ESPN and the CFP committee uses.
Lol. But that then makes bama out of playoff while simultaneously lowering uga's claim of close game against a playoff team
At some point you have to be good on the right day. Having a 12 team playoff will serve to equalize many of the shortfalls. Georgia, Florida St., Ohio St. and others with only one loss will then participate.
