I wouldn't mind playing a bowl game in Charlotte because I have a free place to stay. Not going to the Bahamas though.

I’m trying but I’m just an ordinary fan. I can only do so much.

That game will be back at its home in the Bahamas. What a great experience for the players who would never get the opportunity to see the Bahamas otherwise. I’m sure they’d love that bowl game.

. . . absolutely . . . that experience would be much better than any of the gadgets that are bestowed upon them . . . what a prize to the two teams who are fortunate enough to play there . . .

I suppose you're right. It would be a nice consolation prize for mediocrity.

No such thing as an extra game being a sign of mediocrity. No consoling needed.

How someone feels about an extra game only exposes if they are a fan of the sport or a fan of the Sports Mantle.

Both are good, more game, more fun.

We could conceivably win the conference and go to the Bahamas. Although I am sure NOLA would take us since they have first dibs. In reality any team that isn’t Michigan, Washington, Texas at Austin, and Alabama this year are playing for a “consolation prize”. Next year any team not in the 12 team playoff will be doing the same.

I will fully admit that I think the current bowl structure is silly. There are dozens of insignificant games played by mediocre football teams, half of whom get named “champions” because they had at least .500 record and happened to win their last game of the season.

I love football, but the cash grab participation awards are dumb.

. . . as one who loves to watch college football, it is nice to have college football games everyday for about two and a half weeks . . .

There are definitely mediocre teams in the post season but the games themselves are not locked in or predestined to be, mediocre, it can, go either way.

Sometimes the national championship game has been mediocre.

You are correct. All the games that aren’t in the final four under the current structure can fit into what you are describing. But they are still fun and in the grand scheme almost like having 2 to 4 extra weeks of spring ball.
