SBC, while improving, still has a long way to go before claiming to be top of the G5, IMO. What they do have going for it is it's recruiting grounds, regionalization, and natural rivalries. The trick is going to be keeping it together. I think the east will eventually break off to join the remnants of the ACC.

Still has a long way to go?! The regular season metrics disagree. The SBC was clearly the top G5. Don’t let bowl game results sway you. The regular season should hold more weight.

Outside of JMU, we had a bunch of mediocre teams this year including Troy, the champion, that a bad Cajun team should have beat.
Just be realistic and not delusional.
