Maggard might be AD at this crappy performance time of UL sports, but promise you this. About ten years after he leaves here, y’all going to miss him.
He was a generational hire. Best AD since TDP. 40 years of making do or settling.
Fire Marlin, Desormeaux and Brodhead.
None of these have consistently performed up to stated standards.
Deggs is marginal.
Glasco is outstanding.
Of our 5 leading sports, only Softball is performing up to par.
This right here. We see people say this all the time. "He's the best we've ever had."
Means very little. A good example would be Levi Lewis, who was an average to slightly above average quarterback who rewrote the record books, not because he was a generational talent but because there was no record book to speak of.
Doesn't matter. The national perception is that it is a major sport and we spend 15 Scholarships on it. The conference is only marginally above putrid, yet we don't sniff a championship.
Let me ask you this: if WBB was winning conference championships every year, or even every third year with second or third place finishes the other years, do you honestly think it would not draw much better than it does now?
