    LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – The Louisiana men's basketball team doesn't have far to travel for their next opponent, heading west on I-10 to face McNeese in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

    The Cajuns have owned the in-state battle, winning eight straight against the Cowboys.

    Last time out the Cajuns extended their home winning streak to 19 by holding off preseason ASUN favorite Eastern Kentucky, 73-62. Themus Fulks led the way with a game-high 21 points, his third 20-point performance of the season. Kobe Julien added 17 points while Kentrell Garnett was also in double figures with 12.

    The Cajuns head to the Legacy Center for the second straight year, coming home with a 78-70 victory last season. Fulks had a solid night with 10 points, six assists, and four rebounds in the win. The team went 10-of-20 from three while holding the home team to 7-for-25 from long range.

    Story Lines
    • Kobe Julien has been one of the best scorers in the country this season. The junior leads the Sun Belt in scoring (20.2), total points (202), and 3-point percentage (.455). He's also second in free throw percentage (.841), fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.5), fifth in steals (1.7), and 7th in field goal percentage (.496).
    • This season 5 different players have scored 20 or more points in a game for the Cajuns. They are one of 24 schools in the country to have that many individual 20-point scorers.
    • The Cajuns close the 2023 calendar year with three straight road games. They look for their first true road win since January 21 against Texas State, a streak of six games.
    • McNeese is one of four schools that Bob Marlin has defeated 20 or more times in his career. Marlin is 23-12 all-time against the Cowboys and 10-3 with the Cajuns.
    • The Cajuns have won the last eight in the series, including the last three in Lake Charles, by an average score of 84.9-70.5.
    • Head coach Bob Marlin is taking part in the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative as part of the NABC. For every three-pointer made against McNeese, Marlin will donate $100 to the American Cancer Society. On Wednesday, the Cajuns made six from the outside against Eastern Kentucky.
