When and where was it determined that being USL was a bad thing? Just curious.

I went to USL for my first two years. Then we changed our name to UL in 1984.
I loved my time at USL.
However, the meaning of “USL-ing” something has become to mean:
Something done cheaply, without much consideration ,
That we made the decision knowing we are nothing more than a two directional state school who lives in the shadows of lsu and who greedily feeds on whatever scraps lsu throws at us.
In other words, to “USL” something means we do not make confident, self assured decisions like we belong at the table.

I guess success was getting too expensive and required too much effort by the administration. Problem is they are still overpaying for the results they want. Should have hired a high school coach for $300k.

No, at least that coach has prior college HC experience. He has/had "off the field" issues.

I don't think we should be taking pot shots at CMD. I think it's fair for fans to say they think it's time for a change without insulting him like that. He deserves a little bit more respect.

He will be our coach next year. Hope he can make necessary adjustments this off-season (coaching personnel, play-calling responsibilities, etc. everything should be on the table).

Again, I respect everyone's opinion, but Des does not deserve insults beyond a wish for a change from some.

Naw. But there are some who would agree with your statement.

Rehiring any former coach is just as weak as hiring a favorite son.
