Yup. As soon as you can say they can earn money, it’s collusion to conspire to keep them at one place of employment when they can make more by changing jobs.

Only answer to this is to divorce big time athletics from the universities and have them be minor leagues to the professional sports. Obviously that won’t happen, as too many rich people take weird joy in “winning” a college championship by buying it.

. . . you don’t think just about every national championship for years has been bought by the rich people . . . the bagman along with the rich people to fill the bags have been around since forever . . .

    Who said they weren’t?

Listened to college sports talk this morning. Rick Nuehisel (apologies for spelling) stated the NCAA should move the transfer portal window to after the bowl/playoff post season. Doubt it will happen but should be doable. These athletes pretty much know where their opportunities are before even entering the portal!
Some schools allow players portaling out to play in bowl games (Missouri for example), while others say “bye bye” immediately. Word was Texas told QB Murphy he could stay on the team through playoffs but he decided it was in his best interest to do visits, etc. “Always” a Longhorn he says …. Ya right!
    It’s such a freaking mess!!

That’s one of interesting situations. Arch Manning, what does he do? Top end P5s technically no longer have to develop players.

Jay Johnson said it loud and clear on national TV after LSU won the CWS this year. He wants transfers. These programs won't waste time developing talent. They'll just grab them from the G5 after a couple years at the college level.

Yet, schools who transfer conferences have to wait a year for post play? Doesn't make sense.
