This is what happens when you allow our program to be taken hostage by a handful of sycophant boosters. This is what happens when the Pres of the Rebounder Club is best friends with the wives of the coach & the AD.

I am not a basketball guy but the lack of size inside is going to hurt the team. Living and dying with 3 pointers will never work.

It's a terrible formula. You don't even need super tall guys inside, you just need tenacious players who are willing to do the small things and protect the rim and rebound. When Charles is in the game, he spends more time on the perimeter than he does working for offensive rebounds.

And within the first 45 seconds, we are blaming officials on the La Tech loss. It’s not falling behind by 19 at half. It’s not losing the rebound battle by 17. It’s not going 1-9 from 3-pt range in the first half. Nope. It’s the refs.

Just say the truth. We weren’t prepared to play.

A way to fix all of this besides on the court is to attempt to create excitement to draw people to the games. Start the 2 for 1 with bigger teams rather than scheduling a bunch of no-name schools. Start cultivating the local youth programs to introduce the local kids to our basketball program. Get our coach to start shaking hands in the area and make local appearances. Right now, in spite of the NCAA Tournament appearance, everything is stale. Same group of fans, same “vibe,” same scheduling, same expectations.

Time to shake things up.

So after all of the talk about Marlin not making the Dance and how that is unacceptable, the team does just that last season and its something different now? How many of yall does it take to move those goalposts so quickly?

History didn't start last year. We (stupidly) re-signed a guy with 2 tourney appearances in 14 years, pay him more than anyone in the SBC and yet again, we've started the season looking like ____. Hear that? It's the sound of the fanbase saying they're done with this coach. We can't sell 1K season tickets in the nicest basketball arena in the south.

Because we have seen this same pattern for almost 15 years now. We make the postseason followed by 3-4 years of mediocrity. Like I mentioned earlier, break that cycle with more competitiveness; and we will have more than just 1,100 season ticket holders buying tickets.

We aren't even competing for a tourney berth in those in-between years. From 2019-2022, we averaged 6th place in the conference. If you think that is acceptable, good for you. The rest of us don't.
