  1. Track & Field Louisiana Releases 2024 Indoor Track and Field Schedule

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - Seven meets, including two in the northeast, highlight the Louisiana track and field team's indoor schedule, the team announced on Thursday. Last season the Cajun men finished second and the women sixth in the Sun Belt Conference for the indoor season.

The year opens close to home on January 12 at the LSU Purple Tiger Invite in Baton Rouge. They'll follow that with two days in Birmingham, Alabama at the Samford Multi/Invitational beginning on January 18.

It's another short trip as the team heads west to the McNeese Invitational, the following weekend. The two-day event in Lake Charles starts on January 25. Two days later the Cajuns will compete at the Houston Invitational on January 27.

The first weekend in February the Cajuns travel to Boston for a pair of events. They start the weekend at the Harvard Crimson Elite Meet on February 2 before taking on the Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite on February 3.

The indoor regular season concludes on February 4 in Birmingham at the South Alabama Invitational before time off for the SBC Championships. Those begin on February 19 from Birmingham. The Cajuns have a chance to also return to Boston for the NCAA Indoor Championships starting March 8.

Funny how the story starts with "LAFAYETTE, Louisiana" and there isn't one single event in "LAFAYETTE, Louisiana."

Can an indoor track fit in the Cajun Dome? How expensive is it to create an indoor track facility? Is it worth it to have an indoor track facility? I remember years ago we had access to an indoor track and Dr. A rejected it.

Cajun Dome can handle it fine.

A decade ago one could be had for $5 hundred thousand. I suspect they would be approaching (or surpassing) a million today.

Authement could have had a used twice (I think?) or new indoor track system for $10,000

Bill Cosby bought it for Nevada for the asking price of $10G

    . . . nothing is cheap enough if you don’t want it . . .
