I think his point was begging MH to create something to generate interest and excitement for students.
What would be cool is a train to Nola and back with tickets...12 hour turnaround...just an idea...

30k to charter Amtrak...
Now the tourism and food money request aside, how crazy of an idea is this for a D1 athletic program? I remember going to the Lakefront in 2014 for the SBC tournament, and there was a really nice contingent of GSU students who had done some kind of trip set up by the school, and Atlanta to NOLA is a lot farther than Lafayette to NOLA.
Maybe it’s just wishful thinking at this point, but something for the students like the alumni association does for short road games? Is that so unreasonable? The sentiment between admins and fans alike seems to be “why try” at this point. Getting harder and harder to stay engaged with this.
We're playing in a bowl game two hours away during the day in one of the funnest cities in the world. Maybe I've reached Grand Torino Clint Eastwood levels of ornery old man, but if the students need perks (hotel/food/drink vouchers) to attend then all hope is lost.
As a broke student, I didn't need much convincing to go spend a night in NOLA.
Like I said, the food and tourism money part is a little off base, but a little arranged trip (that students pay for obviously) with bus fare included and a block of rooms at a hotel in NOLA? Doenst seem like a big stretch to me for a university that wants its students to support.
Instead of an SBC championship banner in Lourdes, I think we need to just hang a huge WHY TRY? banner. Fans could tap it on the way in in a new tradition. We can even get a second one for the admins to pat on their way in to the suites.
