PS I'm tired of this argument that the SBC-West is weak, when we have won the last 3 Championships, all by big margins. South Al pulled off the biggest P5 upset in the G5, badly abusing the Big12 runner-up, but the Jags only finished middle of the pack in the West.

A strong case can be made that we have mediocre records in the West because of greater parity; therefore we are more competitive, not less.

Again, it goes back to the problem of just looking at the W-L record, and not understanding the situation.

You checked the win loss records of west vs east? I haven’t, but UL screwed the pooch this year. Even Troy was.500 in regular season. Those numbers also say a lot.

Louisiana football has accepted its invitation to play in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 16, to take on Conference USA's Jacksonville State. Kickoff is slated for 1:15 p.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Evidently they have a good band called the “Southerners”.

They are the “Marching Southerners” to be more precise, and they ARE, hands down, the FINEST college marching band in the country—BAR NONE!!! I’m writing this as a member ofhe PoA back when we were an _____-KICKING band back in the 1970’s and 80’s under Jim Goodman. Back then, he told us the only college band he’d worry about facing was JSU—scary back then, and unbelievable today!!

For all the peeps on this board that participate in the yearly “the PoA SUCKS” thread—this will set a new standard. The Southerners are a 560-member “drum corps” style band that does an actual show, and they WILL, literally, blow the stands away. They also hace a DCI quality drumline and colorguard.
