They won 11 straight after losing to Texas, defeating #1, #11, #13, #17 and #21. Accounting for the SOS of #17 before defeating Georgia. Georgia deserves to be in it as much as any program after winning 29 consecutive games and ranked #1 before losing to Alabama.

Let's say the week before the committee makes its playfoo picks the entire starting lineup gets hurt.

This should not factor into who makes the playoffs.

In a true playoff system you would be right. But that’s not what we have. In a system predicated on “picking” the objectively assumed 4 best teams at the time, yes it would.

The problem is this isn’t a real playoff. It’s a year end ranking with a 4 team tournament tacked on. A true playoff would include, at the minimum, all FBS conference champions.

Check the committee’s criteria below. It’s apparent that FSU’s lack of a quality QB came into play:
    Good find.

    Circular logic....

And what happens if they get hurt in between the day after the picks and the game, will they redraw the bracket?

Great point big fan, didn't bama win a few playoffs without starting qb? How'd they even get there under that scenario?

I have known Icitsh along time. He can't really be serious hoping or thinking Michigan would or could win by 5 touchdowns. If he is serious then I would also like to bet him lunch.

So 1 injury outweighs 1 loss..

If it’s really the best 4 teams at the end of the season, here’s a hypothetical. Let’s say Georgia starts the year with an all American qb coming back from injury and he won’t play till game 4. They start 0-3 then he returns and they win out winning every game by 40 points.

Would that team be considered 1 of the best 4 teams in the country???

Look at the statement again. I didn't say Michigan would beat Alabama, I didn't say I think Michigan is better than Alabama or that Alabama doesn't deserve to be in the playoff. I said it would be more fun to watch Michigan win (by whatever amount, I simply chose 5 touchdowns instead of something else); it would make Alabama look bad, it would make the SEC look bad and it would make the selection committee look bad. That looks fun to me.

all the anti-sec sentiment here, in the southeast. it would only ever be anecdotal, but i wonder, just for a random example, if the fans of the dayton flyers generally hate and pull against the big-10. do richmond spiders fans hate the acc?
