The ACC was the head to head winner vs the SEC this season. FSU was 2-0 against the SEC, went undefeated even though they lost 2 QBs.

That right there tells you they are deserving to be in there. Bama isn’t all that, hell the entire SEC this season was weak. The SEC was 7-9 against the other P5 leagues.

The discussion should have always been between Texas and Bama. Because that’s the two teams that actually have to go to the 2nd block of the committees criteria.

Instead the committee just did whatever the F they wanted.

I don't really care for it, but it's at least the last year of it.
Then it’s not a playoff is it? If it’s always “the best teams”. Because that’s always subjective. Throw the actual criteria the committee is supposed to follow out. Because it doesn’t matter.

So, Florida St went undefeated in the ACC with wins over LSU #13 and Louisville #17 before the game playing the #55 SOS.

Alabama lost to Texas #3, defeated #1 Georgia, #11 Ole Miss, #13 LSU, #17 K-State (at that time and #21 Tennessee (at that time) playing the #17 SOS during the regular season.

Did the committee promise that no undefeated power conference champion will be left out? Of course, they did, but who would trust these people especially after leaving Fla. State out because of SOS and allowing Liberty in with a #133 SOS.

That's not Alabama's fault, their resume is worthy.
It’s not that Bama isn’t worthy. It’s that they are less worthy. They have a loss, FSU does not. The ACC had a better head to head record against the SEC. FSU also played Duke when they were ranked 12th.

For anyone to say they should schedule better. They had LSU, Florida, Clemson and Miami on the schedule. They play Florida every year, so should they drop their state mandated game to pick up another P5?

They did everything they needed to do. Were ranked in the top 4 and won on the final weekend and was leap frogged by #7 & #8.

What happens if they beat UGA? The committee better hope that doesn’t happen.

Florida state played a road non conference p5 game each of last 3 seasons, saban has only played 3 in his entire tenure at bama

With much of the debate being bama vs fsu for last spot, what considerations were made for Texas over fsu.

Was texas getting in more of a factor of:
    A. They beat bama and thus props up bama's case
    B. They will be in the SEC next year
    C. They have a manning on the roster

Bama lost a non-conference game to one of the best teams in the country. If being undefeated means more than playing the best non-conference games you can play, why would anyone schedule tough non-conference games.
FSU scheduled LSU, who was considered one of the best SEC teams. Not sure what else they’re supposed to do.

    This right here.

A P5 program, with one of the top tier SEC teams on their OOC schedule, went undefeated. Only three undefeated P5 teams this season, yet they’ve been left out.

And to give the reasoning that they can’t get in because their QB got injured is bull____. There’s what…70 players who travel and dress out for FBS football? What about the other 69 who busted their asses just as hard to contribute to winning every single game on their schedule?

The Playoff Committee is a fraud.

Well they’re supposed to win every game they play.

Bonus, Alabama getting in infuriates LSU fans. Bonus.
1- FSU plays in a P5 conference, not a G5, and was in the Top 4 what…all season after beating LSU?

2- Being “happy” because of how the LSU fanbase feels about this sound petty and small time as hell. Sorry, not sorry. This was a horrible gesture towards the student athletes on that FSU squad by the playoff committee politicians. That’s pretty much what they are now, politicians.

And evidently each one by 3 TDs or more because that’s exactly what all four teams that got in did.

    Wait…

The cherry picking bias of "This loss doesn't count" has been the prevailing attitude of the softball committee for years.

The irony of denying a perfect season team access in a football playoff championship is thick.

Once the playoffs start ONLY the team without a loss becomes national champion.

Undefeated has always been the high bar measuring stick of a champion.
